NOMTO introduces
AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE IN MALABAR TOURISM
NOMTO has decided to institute Awards of Excellence in Tourism for individuals and
enterprises who have contributed significantly for the promotion of Malabar Tourism.
Malabar Tourism means the districts of Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode,
Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
Last Date of receipt of applications/nominations- 30 th April 2024
North Malabar Tourism Organization (NOMTO) is an independent body for the promotion of Tourism in North Malabar ,i.e, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. It’s a joint initiative of the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce and the tourism stakeholders in North Malabar.
Nomto has a two-fold objective:
Improve the quality of Tourism products & Tourism /Hospitality services in North Malabar.
Market North Malabar through all possible means.
Categories of Awards:-
- The Best Hotel / Resort
- The Best Homestay
- The Best Houseboat
- The Best Ayurveda Centre
- The Best Tour Operator
- The Best Tour Guide
- The Best RT Initiative
- The Best Hotel/ Resort Manager
- The Best Media Reporter
- The Best Innovative Product
- The Best Officer with the Department of Tourism, Kerala/District Tourism Promotion Council for their overall performance.
- Overall Contribution to Malabar Tourism
Selection Criteria:
There will be a Search Committee constituted by NOMTO for recommending the names and the NOMTO Core Committee will take final decisions based on the recommendations of the Search Committee.
The Search Committee will consider :
1. The applications received.
2. The nominations received.
Who can apply:
1. Individuals working in the Tourism/ Hospitality sector of the above mentioned
districts.
2. Enterprises functioning in the Tourism/ Hospitality sector of the above
mentioned districts.
Who can nominate:
1. Organisations working in the Tourism / Hospitality sector who are registered with Government of Kerala or Government of India.
2. Tourism Service providers who are registered with or approved by Government of Kerala or Government of India and having their head quarters in Kerala.( Accredited/Approved Tour Operators, Star Classified Hotels, Kerala RT Mission classified Units, Classified houseboats, Ayurveda centres , homestays
etc)
3. Non Governmental Organisations/ No Profit Organisations registered with Government and working in the Tourism/Hospitality sector.
4. Joint Directors, Deputy Directors & Tourist Information Officers of the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala.
5. Secretaries of the District Tourism Promotion Councils of Kerala.
6. NOMTO members.
